Privacy policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

This policy explains what information Counsel Sites collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep it short because there isn't much to say — we run two contact forms and basic analytics.

Who we are

Counsel Sites builds websites for law firms. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Counsel Sites. You can reach us at hello@counselsites.com about anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete your data.

Counsel Sites is not a law firm and does not provide legal services or legal advice.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit an inquiry or request a free site analysis, we collect what you type into the form:

We also keep any emails you send us and our replies, so we have a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours collects some technical information when you visit:

Why we use it

WhatWhy
Your form detailsTo reply to your inquiry, prepare your free analysis, quote for work, and deliver the service if you hire us.
Your email addressTo correspond with you about your enquiry or project. We do not add you to a marketing list.
Analytics and ad dataTo understand which pages work, fix problems, and measure advertising.
Approximate locationOnly to display a relevant city name in the example site on our homepage.

Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, ours is your consent when you submit a form, our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, and performance of a contract if you become a client.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

We may also disclose information if we're legally required to, or to protect our rights.

Cookies and tracking

Google Analytics and Google Ads set cookies on your device to recognise repeat visits and to attribute form submissions to advertising. You can block or delete these through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser add-on. The site works normally without them.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles beyond Google's standard conversion measurement.

How long we keep it

If you enquire and don't become a client, we keep your details for up to two years in case you come back, then delete them. If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. Analytics data is retained according to Google's default settings.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can email us to:

We'll respond within a reasonable period and won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.

California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. You may exercise your rights to know, delete and correct by emailing us.

Residents of the EU and UK. If we process your data you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. We limit access to your information to the people who need it to do the work. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and we don't collect more than we need.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant we'll say so on the homepage.
